Intelligent Vegetarian Stamp by Clockwerk-chan Intelligent Vegetarian Stamp by Clockwerk-chan
:bulletred: EDIT: :bulletred: As of June 29th, 2009, this account is inactive. I will NOT be responding to comments.

I'm a vegetarian, and I've seen a lot of stamps on dA that are anti-vegetarianism. Most of these stamps are about how humans are "supposed" to eat meat, etc. This is rather disturbing to me, because I really doubt that vegetarians that choose not to eat meat are unaware of the fact that humans are omnivorous animals.

Yes, I am well aware that humans CAN eat meat, but I choose not to for personal ethical reasons. Choosing an "unnatural" lifestyle is nothing new for humans. We drive cars, use the internet, buy and consume entirely man-made products every day. If we did nothing but what we are "supposed to do", then we'd be living in caves eating raw meat and berries.

So please, for logic's sake, don't tell me what I'm "supposed" to eat.

Please :+fav: if using.

Ikr. Just because I have a different diet doesn't mean that someone should be a jerk about it. It's how I live. They need to get over themselves.

they get killed anyway

It may feel like a single person doesn't make a difference, but it does, even if it's a small one. Together, we do make a difference.
If a lot of people stop buying a thing, they will produce less.~

whats the chance you convince a significant amount of people to do it
its much better to advocate for humanitary killing methods tbh

I've made 3 people go vegetarian, I didn't even try to convert them tbh, they just said by themselves they wanted to turn and I helped with the final push. ^^ And that's just within a year of being vegetarian too.
There should also be humanitary killing methods, but I'm pretty sure there's a smaller chance of that ever happening, and that's something that people like us most likely cannot impact either.

But your money supports the places that kill them. Also, animal products are terrible for the environment, so there are other reasons.

No, no, that's not what I'm saying. As you are aware, we aren't in the wild. We are on the internet. Additionally, drinking milk from another species is not natural. Do you think factory farms exist in nature? Predators don't go around breeding prey and slaughtering the babies, do they? Here are some articles/resources on the subject:

1. You expect me to read all of this bullshit links you've sent
2. "Predators don't go around breeding prey and slaughtering the babies, do they?" they slaughter the babies. They do. And if they could they would probably breed their prey, but since no hands to build a fence and no possibility to take care of them... Ants keep caterpillars for eating though.
3."No, no, that's not what I'm saying." yes it is, you've said that meat is dangerous to environment
4. "Drinking milk from another species is not natural"- it is for humans, as we've built up tolerance for it. We are animals, and all animals affect their environment to prosper. We are more intelligent than most of species, and equipped with hands, so we've changed it a little bit more. Still, we are animals. Animals change their environment. If birds building nests or lions scrathing tree bark is natural, then so is plastic and internet- because animals produced it.
4. "Do you think factory farms exist in nature?" again, yes- because humanity is part of nature c:

I am naturally equipped with stomach capable of digesting both meat and plants and im gonna use it that way c: thank you for your try on turning me into an antellope

Yes I do. If you gave me some links I'd read them too.

Predators don't BREED them. They don't slaughter, they hunt. Humans take advantage of animals' bodies and exploit them. Predators don't. They just kill when they need to.

Do you know that to get the milk, the female cows are artificially impregnated? When their baby is born, he or she is ripped from their mother's side. If they're male, they'll be killed for veal or raised and then killed for beef. Female calves are kept so they can undergo the same treatment.

Are you willing to drink milk from another human, even a stranger on the street? Surely that's more natural than drinking it from an abused animal.

There's some evidence, actually, that humans are more herbivorous, and lots of evidence that meat is bad for us, leading to heart problems and such. But aside from that, why would you want to eat meat if it means animals have to suffer for you? As for 'humans are part of nature', I'll also assume you have no issues with murder and infanticide (killing babies), as animals do that all the time and it's natural.

As he said, predators don't have the ability to. And humans are a part of nature. We are animals. Slaughter and kill are the same thing... Learn language any language.

Bulls are either killed for steak if they are bad, and if they are good they become tamed. And to supply people (because people are animals too) sometimes good Bulls will be made into food.

Cows start giving milk once they have their first baby. By choice because people don't know when's cows are sexually mature.

Oh so meat is bad and plant good? Then why can we digest it. And the heart problems are due to inevolved stomach lining and enzymes.

I'm was kind of done with this conversation, but okay -

Whether humans are a part of nature any more is extremely debatable. Do we have an impact? Absolutely - usually a negative one. This can be seen in animal agriculture - a quick Google search will reveal the effect of the meat industries on the earth. If we don't stop, or at least cut down our animal product intake, it's not good news for the planet.

A animal's fate in the meat industry is determined before it's born. As the majority of meat in the USA comes from factory farms, all the animals are destined for slaughter. Doesn't matter if they're 'good' or 'bad' (animals are rarely bad for the sake of it. Bad behaviour is usually fear-driven.)

On dairy farms (as said before, most usually factory farms) the female cows are impregnated by the workers. They have no choice about whether they become pregnant or not. After the animal gives birth, the baby is taken away. If he's a male, he'll be a) used for beef, or b) used for breeding (although he doesn't actually get to mate). If the baby's a female, she'll be taken away, fed on a replacement milk, and later suffer the same fate as her mother.

Calves are not allowed to stay with their mothers because they'd drink all the milk, leaving none for humans to steal. I have witnessed baby cows being taken away from their mothers firsthand, and it is not a nice experience for anyone.

Being able to do something doesn't mean it's morally right. Meat isn't inherently bad for humans in small portions but at the rate we eat it today, as well as the environmental effect (and frankly horrible standards of animal welfare on farms), it's simply not the best thing to eat. Especially considering we can live without it.

Basically, it comes down to this: eating meat hurts animals, the planet, and other humans. Not consuming animal products causes less harm. If you had the choice to hurt as least creatures as possible, wouldn't you take it?

Stuff which you use too, am I right? And what about the slaughterhouse/factory farm workers that are often immigrants and are abused in the workplace? Don't use other's oppression to make a point. And no, I'm not better than you. I try to cause as least harm as possible, though.

Yes I know it.

Drinking milk from a stranger is not natural as we don't do it : )

we are primarly herbivorous omnivores

vores

"I'll also assume you have no issues with murder and infanticide" actually it's true

Not to mention you completely missed the point of "humans are part of nature"

Humans do stuff
humans are part of nature
Therefore every single thing we've done, we do and we will do is 100% natural

Just because it's old doesn't mean it won't still get replies.
Again, you are judging an entire group by the actions of a few individuals. I don't recall ever calling you or anyone else a murderer or a "bloodmouth" or anything for eating meat.
It's very rude, in my opinion, to judge people like this. Why judge me by the actions of other people whom I don't know or associate with at all? It's like when people say all Russians are evil like Putin, or when people say that all Liberals are SJWs, or like saying all Muslims are terrorists. It's wrong to say and think stuff like this, and it's ignorant as well. I personally believe that no one should by judged by the words and actions of others, but be judged by the words and actions that they themselves as an individual have made.

Thank you for explaing why you're a veggie. :D I get the same lecture from people all the time as well, "our ancestors ate meat, therefore you should eat meat" and all that bull. Well, yes, it's true our primordial ancestors where omnivorious, but they had their reasons to eat whatever came across their path; it's all about survival and passing on genes and blah, blah blah! We've advanced so much that certain humans can live on various types of diets, unfortunately a lot of them are very unhealthy, full of processed snacks and malnourishing boxed and canned food. I personally choose vegetarian for my health, and for the loves of animals.

Nice stamp. :)

Thank you, it's very refreshing to see a veggie-friendly stamp mixed in with all the hate. I honestly don't think DA should allow those "FUCK YOU VEGETARIANS!" stamps to exist. It's offensive to a large group of people, many of which are vegetarian or vegan for religious reasons (I'm not, I'm a veggie because I think it's wrong to torture animals the way agribuisness does).

Love the points you've made ;D

I'm questioning eating animal meat a lot and am quite happy trying vegetarianism at the moment, have been mainly since september. But yeah, just because we can actually eat it, that we are omnivourous doesn't mean we cant choose to cut that out and replace it, especially when its all for good and compassionate reasons
